Lorin Eleni Gill is a multimedia reporter at the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.

The former Pacific Business News reporter launched her career at HONOLULU Magazine as a Society of Professional Journalists intern in 2014. At PBN, she covered health care, nonprofits, and tourism and wrote stories about the Affordable Care Act, alternative lodging, and the controversy over the Thirty Meter Telescope in Hawaii.

As an undergraduate, Eleni studied international relations and communications at American University in Washington, D.C. An avid listener with an insatiable curiosity about the world, she decided to pursue journalism and is the fourth generation of her family to do so.

Eleni is interested in international storytelling through multimedia. Born and raised in Honolulu, she has also lived in Tokyo, Havana, and Madrid. She came to Berkeley after an academic year in Spain, where she completed a graduate certificate in Spanish language and culture.

The dedicated hula and salsa dancer also holds a certificate in mediation.
